WHAT TO PACK & FAQ’S

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Our packages include all gear, both fly-fishing & spin casting but if you choose to bring your own we’ll provide you with a list of gear that works well on the Anvik. If you have any questions prior to your arrival, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Clothing & Personal Items we suggest you bring –
Pack for as low as 35-degree weather & as high as 80 degrees. You might want to call for a weather forecast before your departure. We suggest layering t-shirts, sweatshirts or fleece, sweater & jacket. No need to over pack as we’ll do your laundry at no extra charge. You only need to bring a few days’ worth of clothes and your personal toiletries. We provide bedding, soap & towels.

– Jeans or fleece pants
– Knit hat & gloves
– Wool or fleece socks
– Sweaters/sweatshirts
– Long sleeve & T-shirts
– Tennis shoes or other comfortable shoes
– Shorts/bathing suit (steam lodge)
– Sun Screen & Mosquito Repellent
– Camera, phone camera, go pro
– Personal toiletries & medication (make sure these are in your carry-on)
– Polarized sunglasses or other eye wear (eye protection is mandatory)
– Chest waders & boots – OPTIONAL or you can borrow ours
– Rain Gear – pants & jacket – OPTIONAL or you can borrow ours

WHAT KIND OF PLANE DO WE TAKE FROM ANCHORAGE TO ANVIK? 
We charter a Beechcraft 1900 turbo prop airplane for your hour & twenty minute flight from Anchorage to Anvik.

IS THERE CELL PHONE SERVICE?
No, we are far too remote for cell phone service. We do however have a repeater/transmitter phone line at the lodge and satellite phone for emergencies. We also have satellite internet service.

IS THERE 24 HOUR ELECTRICITY?
Yes, we have solar power as well as back-up generators providing the property with continuous A/C power.

WILL I SEE WILDLIFE?
Most likely, you’ll see any or all the following throughout your stay. Bears, moose, wolves, wood bison, otter, beavers, eagles, falcons and up to 50 other species of migratory & predatory birds.

HOW MANY GUESTS FISH IN A BOAT?
We fish guests two and one guide per boat – except for parties booked in triple occupancy rooms, that are fished three to a boat. Quad occupancy rooms are fished two guests per boat.
